MOSAIC COURSES
You will produce either:
• a mirror (a 35X35cm frame)
• or a round table-top (60cm diameter)
• or a picture (the dimensions can be up to 0.3m2)
You will work on:
• Graphics and colour
• Cutting (glass nippers, tile cutters), and setting of glass tiles, glazed and unglazed tiles, mirrors and “emaux de Briare”
• Cement grouting (from narrow to very wide and pigment colouring)
All materials are provided by the workshop. Just bring an apron or wear clothes that don’t matter.
In the beginner’s course, the mosaic is glued directly to the chipboard base.
In the advanced course, the mosaic is not glued directly to the base but is fixed to a mesh base beforehand. This method is suitable for more complicated designs.
I leave my students free to choose their own style of mosaic. I just supply the materials. You will produce a mosaic based on your own taste, sensibility and creativity. There are models to guide you or you could bring your own documentation (drawings, photos, magazine articles etc).

2 POSSIBILITIES FOR A WEEKEND COURSE

In both cases, there will be 2 weekends with a fortnight’s gap between them.
| Weekend 1: |
Saturday from 2pm to 5.30pm
Sunday from 10am to 12am, and 2pm to 6pm

At the end of the Sunday session, you will take your work to finish it at home.
The Advanced Course students will come back during the week for 2 hours to fix the mesh backing.
Weekend 2: Saturday from 2pm to 5pm, a fortnight later, you come back to do the grouting.
2 POSSIBILITIES FOR A COURSE DURING THE WEEK
You live out of the area; all work will be done in the workshop.
